Indian forces on Friday retaliated strongly against the Pak Rangers, who fired on the ceasefire agreement along the LOC. Eight Pakistani soldiers were killed in a shootout with Indian forces. Two to three of them were Army Special Service Group (SSG) commandos, ANI news agency quoted Indian Army sources as saying. According to the report, 10 to 12 Pakistani soldiers were injured in the Indian Army firing. Indian forces also destroyed large quantities of Army gold, fuel dumps and launch pads.

Meanwhile, Pakistani forces along the LOC were cut off on Friday with several rounds of gunfire without any provocation. Four Indian soldiers, including a BSF sub-inspector, were killed in the firing. Four other civilians were also killed, according to information from G గురrez, the hanging sector.
